And I mean really hammer his fitness and not just half-arse it like he has been doing in his training videos. But the point is that at the moment people are talking as if he is nowhere near the top guys and so far in this comp he's had two first places. One bad (very bad) event has ruined his chances but that's just bad luck. I would tend to agree about the throw - all the Brits, let's be honest, are notoriously bad at it. Why is everybody rambling about how Ed can't compete with Shaw/Thor/Z, the comp isn't over yet? The guy has just came joint first in the last two out of three events. Had he not have done as bad in the first event he would be possibly winning. One bad event can't label him unable to contend with the best. He has a good chance of winning both stones and truck pull tomorrow too. | |||

And a lot easier than it should have been considering it's my one rep max Barbell Strict Press (from shoulder height) 92.5kg x 1 PB 95kg x 1 better PB 100kg x 1 bestestest PB 102.5 x fail Didn't expect a 10kg strict PB. | |||

Stumbled on the first attempt with the 90kg log on both reps so I did a second set because I wasn't happy, and it was much better. So I doubled my existing 1rm for two sets, good session. | |||

MONDAY 22.9.14 Deadlift cycle Week 5 Goal: wu to 220kg x 3 Not good. Unwell, not been eating all weekend. Feel sh*t. Deadlift bar x 5 60kg x 3 100kg x 3 140kg x 2 180kg x 1 220kg x fail Gasping for air after every rep. This is bad times tonight. Axle Cleans (one motion cleans) 100kg x 1 105kg x 1 weight PB by 5kg 110kg x 1 better weight PB 110kg x 1 again If I start eating and find strength again for next Monday I will repeat this last week of cycle. Feeling run down and weak. Axle was very surprising don't know where that came from. | |||

Also messed around with stones up to 120kg. I will make up a new five week squat cycle to start next week. | |||

Weights were feeling heavy but that might be down to being a bit bloated.
