I may have asked you before but how long does a typical session take you?

Nice work. I think you'll get your goals at the comp and more.

I seem to recall he kept getting injured.

Seeing as Bolton started out as a BB and used to do Strongman I don't understand some of the comments on this thread.

This is not unusual.

Hide the Tropical Fruit!

On a more serious note there's a list as long as your arm of bodybuilders and other strength athletes who have appeared in Adult cinema.

I don't want to be a t**t but I'd be a bit careful deadlifting like that - looks a little like supporting the bar on your legs which may not be on where you compete.

Good lifting aside from that.

I agree it sounds like you are covering your bases, but be careful not too over do things. Get your straps back, they are handy things to have - whilst you want hands as strong as possible you surely would not want to limit the rest of your body?

On the other hand (he he) depending on the degree of injury this may not be something that is 'fixable'.

I like a laugh and a joke as much as the next man but do people actually enjoy it when it gets like this? Trolling can be fun, as can trolling the troll(s), but I'm f**ked if I can see any point to this at all.

Any chance of a Savage Moratorium?

That's a damned fine ceiling for a gym!

He's definitely at the least, in the past, spent a f**k load of time in that bottom position. He also does a lot of cleans I believe...and as Andy mentioned, his recover strength is really quite far ahead of where it needs to be. I wonder if the front squats he does are more directed towards his jerks. He seems to go down as far as he can while remaining COMPLETELY vertical and underneath the bar. It's kind of like a really long jerk dip and drive....

That sounds like a good shout.

It also makes me laugh that he often starts returns the bar to the rack whilst he's still standing up...

A quick Google search shows it was the 2002 IFSA Super Series final in Hawaii - he did three reps with 500lbs to tie with Pudzianowski and Savickas.

I was drinking pretty heavily back in those days so I am pretty surprised that memory still exists.

It wasn't WSM, it was one of the Super Series or whatever they were called back then - it was shown on Eurosport IIRC.

I hate watching him front squat because the struggle between thinking it's s**t and thinking well he's doing pretty good really keep your mouth shut, makes me want to kill myself.

It's an interesting one - I'm guessing they tick the boxes he needs to tick or he wouldn't do them that way. I seem to recall him saying that he works around injuries but then I think I've also heard that's just how he likes doing them. And of course he might do every other front squat except the ones on video to rock bottom, who can say?

Wasn't there a comp done by a few on here a few weeks back with a front squat in it? I know some comps have used an axle front squat for reps - there was one many years ago with Svend Karlsen...

If so, I hope they know what a front squat entails...

Happy
