Im not sure safe lift is a banker for Ed. There are plenty of guys in the field who will get up towards double digits, Ed will need serious fitness if he is going to win that event.

I also think safe lift will be the make or break event for Fe and Bish. With so many 180 pressers in the line up this year a poor showing on that event could cost either man 10+ pts.

9/1

Front squats

100 x 2, 2,
140 x 2, 2,
180 x 2, 2, 2.

1 clean strict log

85 x 2 emom x 22,
90 x 2 emom x 3.

Close grip bench

100 x 8, 8, 8.

Should have been front squat for reps tonight, but knees were feeling a bit battered from events.
Pressing was decent, finally starting to get a bit comfortable with my monster log, 1st rep of every set was 1 motioned.

Its the events at brits that make a win for anyone but Ed unlikely.
On the right events Loz can certainly beat Ed, had ed done Europes last year i believe loz would still have won.

Hicks is there, and both paul smith and mark Steele did double digits on yoke press to qualify for brits.

3 of those 4 events will always be at ESM as well. Ed beat 4 at the Arnold's in 2015.

The events may be there, but recent evidence shows that stones and overhead are not banker events for Ed against Thor like they are against the other guys at brits. (That said, i think a few of the newcomers could test ed this year on yoke press, which requires far more fitness than viking or max log (which he shared points on anyway))

Ed could easily win ESM. Basically the same contest as BSM which he wins incredibly easily. Without the deadlift champs just before it I think he probably will this year.

They arent close, ed gets cushy events at brits, front hold, deadlift, overhead and stones are bankers. On the events at Europes and against Thor its just not the same.
How longs it been since Ed beat Thor?

Was bloody shattered heading in to todays session after a late night yesterday (i lost my phone and spent ages tearing the house apart looking for it).
Pretty happy with how it went, though weight was too low on btn press, didnt feel anything up till about set 7, then overcompensated and almost failed to finish the final set.

Adding an extra session to fridays to get some extra volume on 1 lift. This week to break in easy im cheating by just hitting deadlifts in the volume session and then doing the rest of my deadlift workout in the second session.

Cambered bar squats

145 x 10, 10,
165 x 10.

Single leg calf raises, 3 x 12.

Barbell rows

140 x 5, 5,

Happy with todays session.
Got great speed on a few of the deadlift reps, starting to get comfortable with the technical changes.
The higher rep squats didnt have me gassed like they once would have either, so making decent progress.

Just a loosener today.
Its the final day of my hols and i spent it laying laminate and doing some pointing, so i was fairly tired.
Wanted to do something, but knew the energy wasnt there for anything heavy, the above was the result.

Yeah, Thor bossed that event, Ed got lucky, anyone saying he wouldve won is kidding themselves.
