I see on Facebook Eddie has won with an event to spare.

29-8-15

Wide grip pull down
Warm up
5 x 8

Barbell row
110 x 5. 5 sets.

Squat.
Worked up to
200 x 3. Felt awful, I did some yoke yesterday and it really took its toll on my core/lower back. Couldn't keep myself from going forward when squatting.

Narrow grip pulldown
5 x 8

Wide grip (D handle) cable row
3 x 8

Done.
» Does Pudz get a little overlooked? (Go to post)28-08-2015 @ 11:22
Although I think he is the most well known amongst the casual fans that I know (possibly due to my age, my friends would have watched him as a kid like I did and they no longer watch it)
I do think he gets written off very quickly when discussing if he'd be competitive nowadays. He was light and fast because he needed to be, I think he would've adapted and maybe won a few more titles if he had carried on.

» Motivation (Go to post)26-08-2015 @ 22:02
I normally try a complete change in my training. Earlier this year my motivation for my powerlifting training completely dried up, after a couple of weeks of not training my wife put her boot up my arse to get me back down the gym and I changed to a body part split, more bodybuilding style, after pumps etc. I even did an arm day for the first time since I was a teenager with zero knowledge.
I just needed to find a way to remind myself I lift weights for myself because I love doing so, try and remove any pressure to train.

Bolt can't do this anymore though. He was the perfect sprinter from start to finish, too bad he didn't chase better winds and fast times in 08/09.

This. Always a bit gutted when left wondering what could've been. Same reason that I hope Eddie hall gets pushed to his absolute deadlift limits at some point.

Said by everyone else..

I have this friend / I know this lad who..

is f**king massive, he makes you look small (when said mate/lad is a good 50kg lighter lol)

I get this all the time. It's as if people don't think I can understand size otherwise.
I got told about this one lad who was much bigger than me (I'm 6'5"and 145kg) when I saw him he was 5'8" at a push and maybe 75kg.

I also hear variations on "I'm not going heavy (or low reps) because I don't want to get massive."
Because it sometimes happens overnight, obviously.

"You can only lift that because you're big"
As if I was born at my current size and have always lifted what I do now.

Similarly, "I could do that if I were your size"

I'd love to see him go round pressing everybody, like Goldberg used to do back in the day.

Deadlift
70 x 3
110 x 3
130 x 3 - here it where it became clear today wasn't going to go well. No legs power after yesterday.
150 x 3
170 x 3
200 x 3 - left it here, was becoming too risky on my back.

Wide grip pulldowns
5 x 8

V grip pulldowns
5 x 8

Barbell row
100 x 5. 5 sets.

Narrow T-bar row
3 x 8.

Done. Got enough done after a disappointing start.

24-8-15

Strict press
50 x 8
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
85 x 3
90 x 1 - awful rep, wanted 3 really but got the first one so wrong I ground it out and left it there.
70 x 5. 3 sets.

Dumbbell press
30kg x 10. 3 sets.

Not heavy to begin with but I struggle with the endurance.

Front squat
100 x 3. 5 sets. Protecting the wrist.

Leg press
Stack x 8. 3 sets. Awful cable machine, the stack says 175kg, feels harder than 400kg on the leg press at my normal gym.

Seated chest press
Stack x 8. 3 sets. A bit like above really, didn't enjoy it.

Finished with some tricep work.

21-8-15

Barbell row
60 x 8
80 x 8
100 x 8. 3 sets.

Wide grip pull down
5 x 8

Squat - struggled to hold the bar. I probably should've rested my rest here.
110 x 3
130 x 3
150 x 3
170 x 3
190 x 3
210 x 2
230 x 1
250 x f

Felt like my legs could just keep giving and giving today but my grip was so poor and my balance was all over the place. Another day maybe.

Wide grip cable row
5 x 8.

Done. Weekend rest should help. Front squats are working.

Strict press
60 x 5. 2 sets.
70 x 5. 2 sets.

Pec dec
Stack x 8. 5 sets.

Done. Limited with what I could do today. Pulling tomorrow and then a weekends rest will sort it out hopefully.

18-8-15

Deadlift
100 x 3
140 x 3
180 x 2
200 x 2
227.5 x 1

Wrist was hurting from yesterday so was struggling to grip the bar, used figure 8 straps which I'm not used to and they threw me off a bit. Still, I'm happy with that pull, most I've done in a while and it felt comfortable. Front squatting has definitely helped.

Barbell rows
100 x 8. 5 sets.

Wide grip pull downs
5 x 8

Low cable row
5 x 8

Face pulls
3 x 10

Done, thumb hurts.
