» WST, strongest team? (Go to post)06-06-2016 @ 08:54

Haha you're pushing this 500kg everywhere, but to be fair I don't recall a time when Felix has pulled 425, let alone with that sort of ease. Ed looks in monstrously strong shape for deadlifting (pressing aswell judging by his vids).

Looked comfortable as well. Huge lift, congrats.

agreed.. one problem we'd have though with a lot of reps/loading stuff is the return of 'pudz isn't the strongest, he's just better at running about with heavy s**t' whining

Some people do talk about Pudz as if he wasn't strong at all. Despite a lot of evidence saying otherwise.

Depending on the increments I can see Terry pulling 464 or 466, whichever it is, then failing the next one. I can see Pritchett doing the same.

Maybe 475 fresh.

£50, 000.

That's a lot of money. Certainly enough to motivate people to really really push for it. What's the pot for winning WSM? Similar amount isn't it?

I agree, I think locking the big weights out is more the issue for him. Him and Shaw are strong at opposing ends of the lift.

Pretty much. My body composition has taken a bit of a hit but I am just as strong not worrying about it. I doubt I get 200g of protein a day nowadays.

I've always wondered about this. The claims that you need 2g of protein per pound of body weight to make serious progress. I've ticked along slowly but surely just fine without it. Doesn't seem worth worrying about finding 600g of protein a day.

I think we'll have a better idea when the increments are known. I think they might stop off at 455 this years to get a record number of people lifting 1000lb in a competition.

One day dude
Always failed 250-260 whenever I tried it though
Next time I am build up better rather than try rushing the peak

That is some monstrous benching. What does a good build up look like to you.
I don't bench near what you do but I feel like a rush it as well. Feel strong, get too keen and then s**t out right when I feel like I've got a PB in me.
» What tacky to get? (Go to post)16-05-2016 @ 23:41
John said:I found Dave oslund (hopefully spelt right) tacky good, however any good tacky will take the hair off you inner forearm which is really uncomfortable when trying to clean it off,I'm sure someone here said use wd40 worked a treat.

White spirits for getting the tacky off. Or hot water and a knife as we've done on more than one occasion John haha.

How are you on the CoC #4 currently? Any plans to certify officially?

it's probably too whippy. ed was shaking like mad pulling it.
i know a couple of people that even struggle with the texas DL bar over an ipf stiff bar.

Think this helped Shaw. He grips it so wide it helps negate the whip of the bar. Plus he might just have to strongest lower back going.

The_Lone_Wolf said:I notice that Jerry, much like Shaw takes a wider stance than normal... Obviously these are big chaps, but is there another reason?

I'm no deadlift expert at all but I pull in a similar way to make it easier to get to the bar. I'm 6'5"-6'6" with a 6'2" arm span. Setting up wider lets me reach the bar without rounding my back. I sit in like a squat almost.

That's incredible.

Yeah I want any english guy to win. Time was his attitude rubbed me up the wrong way a bit, shouting about how light everything was and then not making it out of the heats. I suppose you need that self belief though and as he's got so strong that what he was saying is true, he doesn't seem to say it as much.
The reason I like Terry is a think he's a great strongman, not the strongest man, but good at the sport. A naturally huge guy who is great and carrying things and lifting stones and cars etc.
