Yeah it's Friday and Saturday. Sunday will be the record breakers bit.

The issue I have here isn't with Brian, nor is it with strongman deadlifts being performed on strange apparatus. Hummer tire deadlift is cool, silver dollar deadlift is cool.

What doesn't sit well with me is the fact that at the Arnold's this year, someone has in my opinion, purposefully set out to be deceptive by making a strange apparatus deadlift setup that allows more weight to be lifted, while trying to disguise it as best as possible as being a regular deadlift from the floor, by using regular plates and setting a barbell up on the floor. Usually there is a very obvious visual distinction between these weird strongman deadlifts and what we all consider a "legit 1000lb deadlift". This won't be the case after next weekend and will be the cause of a lot of confusion and arguments.

this is pretty much exactly how I feel about it. Why not go silver dollar if they wanted a change from hummer. See if anyone can take the record in that.

It didn't look absolutely maximal, there was a lot of flex in that bar. I think I'm more impressed by his 448kg on a normal bar from a few years back.

I think with that much flex Z could get the win.

Then all I will hear is 'hey did you see that world record deadlift'

I don't see how they can design a bar with a new record in mind and expect any legitimacy. Surely records should all need to be done under the same conditions.

Hence strongman is never making it to the Olympics.

Imagine how easy it would be to lie about it though. Unless they are watching you 24/7 you could just say you lived on it for a year

The rules they've set out for it are very strict. You have to live within a few miles of where it's made for a start I think, plus you can only do 30 minutes exercise per day and can drink only water for the year.

it must be very flexible bar

I've seen a photo of the bar somewhere loaded up with 500kg and lifted in the middle. The makers were demostrating how flexible it is. I'll see if I can find it.

I like to get my insulina through an IV drip so shouldn't affect me too much.

JamieG said:Ok so this may be a coincidence (or more likely, my poor usage) but in the week I've been using this stuff for breakfast and lunch, I've not had a single good gym session. Just feel totally lacking in energy whilst there.

I'm pretty sure the kcal count between now and before is similar, just much less bread and meat.

Maybe bread and meat is just superior to powdered food.

The taste is fine so that's a plus. Think I might start just having it solely for brekkie.

I started on it this week and feel the same way. Lethargic. I'm only using it to replace snacks between meals, I might well be getting less cals overall.

Didn't Colin make the final of Britains Strongest Man one year?

This answer is based out of very little actual knowledge,
But doesn't it relate to time travel? Which is still theoretical, so as widely accepted as it might be it is yet to be proven and demonstrated so it has to still be a theory for now.

Not trying to be inflammatory at all, just out of interest why do people think the organisers (Terry Todd et al) of the Arnold want Z to win it over Shaw?
If I knew nothing about it my first instinct would be that a comp like that would have a pro American bias more than anything.
» Metal wraps (Go to post)10-02-2016 @ 16:06
I've got the metal silver knee wraps and without someone to wrap me they aren't feasible on my relatively large knees.

What are the biggest log presses ever done in comp outside of Z.
Is it Radz with 215kg? Then Eddie and Hixxy with 211kg?
