Well it's a New Year and the old thread is getting a bit lengthy so I'll start a new one.

Firstly lets have a link to the previous two:

The first log ran from August 2007 until October 2009.
http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/Long-Term-Target-2-573

The second log ran from October 2009 until December 2011.
http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/Time-for-a-new-log.-Not-s...

I've done no serious training since before the Commonwealth Champs, no serious benching since my shoulder injury on 25th November and nothing at all since before Xmas. Back at the Farm tonight though so more later.

Feel free to watch with interest Paul.

Monday 2nd January 2012.

Quiet at the Farm tonight.
Big Dave, Pete W, and Stewart in trap 1.
Me and Snerpjo in trap 2.
Andy weightlifter in trap 3, and a visiting guest from the Woking Power Gym in trap 4 (nice lad, I guess that I should have asked his name. He did say that he normally trains in Woking with Steve Blackwell so he's in good hands).

Weighed in at 118.45Kg, not as bad as expected after a week's excess on the food and drink front and certainly not as bad as Snerp who tipped the scales at 97.6Kg, nearly 6Kg up on his Commonwealth weigh-in.

1/2 Squats to bench.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 120
5 x 150
3 x 180
2 x 3 x 200
5 x 180
No problems.

Deep Front Squats.
5 x 40
3 x 60
3 x 80
2 x 100
1 x 110
1 x 120
No problems.
Just a light session to start the year.

General shoulder re-hab and light stretching.
Benching will be out of the question for some months as the shoulder pain is still considerable. I went swimming 4 times last week and that seems to help ease the shoulder, they must have thought that I was a little peculiar though, as I do not have full mobility with the right arm so consequently every stroke saw me turn 5 degrees to the right! If the pool had been any bigger I could have swum in a circle whilst swimming in a straight line. Tongue

Wednesday 4th January.

It seemed really busy at the Farm tonight but their were only 13 or 14 of us in. Weighed in at 118.25Kg.

Deficit Deadlifts from 80mm box.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 140
2 x 160
1 x 180
1 x 195 PB!
3 x 1 x 180
3 x 160
5 x 150 Standard Deadlifts to finish.

Lots of shoulder rehab stuff.
The shoulder is still showing no sign of improvement.

Nice lifting Ian. From the sound of it you should get a physio/shoulder specialist to check your shoulder if it is showing no sighns of improvement

Cheers Bill, I'm looking into the physio thing this week.

Friday 6th Jan.

Weighed in at 118.2Kg, disapointingly heavy considering that i've been to the poncy gym twice this week. Last night I knocked of 600 calories on the cross trainer, then went for fish & chips!

Squat.
10 x 20
5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 140
3 x 160
3 x 180 3x PB.
3 x 170
3 x 150
5 x 130
Pleased with this session, the 3rd 180 was a real grind.

Front Squats.
5 x 40
3 x 60
2 x 90
1 x 110
1 x 130
1 x 120
These felt heavy after the normal squats.

Bench.
NOTHING.
Shoulder still painful.
Did lots of shoulder re-hab stuff.

Many thanks Ed.

I have finally managed to get hold of Big Dave's camera so here are my lifts from the Commonwealth Champs last month.

Squats First.

My opening squat. Should have been an easy 180.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqnNejQkaXg&list=UUnpUJPwIb...
Failed 2-1 on depth, the first time I have ever failed a squat on depth in a competition. Was I robbed?

My second squat. 180 again, really slow and steady.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWY1gZz5Wgk&list=UUnpUJPwIb...
Passed 3-0.

My third squat. 195 I knew that i'd cut it short. Failed 0-3 on depth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QgECtROO0&list=UUnpUJPwIb...
Very dissapointing.

Finally, tonights training.

Monday 9th January.

Felt sh*t all day with the remnants of a cold.
I had a large lunch so was not suprised suprised to weigh in at 118.45Kg.

Deadlifts with Snerpjo.
I took the i-phone so sneaked a couple of vid's.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
3 x 150
2 x 170
2 x 190
3 x 210 3x PB
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewhzr9EMAKE&list=UUnpUJPwIb...
Pleased with this, the intention was to do doubles tonight but aware that my triple PB was 207 I thought that i'd go for the third.
2 x 200
2 x 180
5 x 160
Lot's x 120.
Snerpjo worked the same doubles up to 235.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-M1rcGP9vI&list=UUnpUJPwIb...

Bench.
Nothing, however I hope that i'm not tempting fate when I say that the shoulder feels a little better today.

Lot's of shoulder re-hab stuff.

It was a combination of the feeling of injustice from the first squat decision and the adrenalin from the shoulder pain of the bench!
