I've started training like everyone else when they start in the gym, on quite a bodybuilder split really and since I stopped Rowing lightweight, I had no reason to stay under 75kg any more, and wanted to get the size on. I've gone from 70kg at the start of uni, upto 80 in second year, back down before focusing 100% on strongman, and getting to my current weight of around 90kg. My focus for training in the near future is a 600kg total at U90kg and to compete at Britains Naturals 2015 qualifiers 2015. 145/140kg Frontie 200/ 205kg backsquat, 110/120kg 5RM Bench 125/140 1RM Bench 122.5/140 paused bench 1RM 250/270kg Deadlift, 100/110kg Log, 100/110kg Axle ftoh 100/ 110kg powerclean 60/65kg Circus DB 80/100 Strict Overhead | ||

Strange, probably should see some one as it's recurring. Trained chest tonight, first flat barbell session in a long time (been on the dumbells) and got 102.5 out almost for 2 reps, comfortable single rep tho. Next week!! Rest of the sesh, general dumbell press/flyes/decline bench etc. Nothing notable here. Legs session tomorrow, sadly i don't think I'll be able to squat the way my back is. | ||

Member 5031, 1417 posts SQ 230, BP 140, DL 275645.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | As Squatting anything more than a bag of sugar (same for deadlift) is out of the question due to this scumbag injury it's been frustrating of late training round it, not wanting to worsen it. Managing to push out some fairly good leg press weights, and bent over row/lat pull down weights for reps, to hopefully keep me from wasting away. First Try at Strongman training tomorrow at Vulcan Centre in Hull, and nervous is definitely the word. Very ready for the early start (for me) and to look tiny. Time to make the man! | ||

Everything was very new to me, but soon got into the swing of things. Farmers walks, yoke and the killer frame carry, and to round off Log press. Failed 85kg log press, but pushed throught to 82.5kg press, which is still an over head PB! Strict pressed 60 for 5 on the log so relatively happy with that too. Ache like a b**ch today, but cannot wait for next week. | ||

Member 5031, 1417 posts SQ 230, BP 140, DL 275645.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Still sore from the first strong man session this weekend, plus i've got a cracked filling in my tooth, so pain throughout my jaw and head was killing me throughout the session, benching on cocodamol probably isn't the best move but hey ho. Wide grip bench - Warm up sets 20 @ 20kg x 2 sets 10 @60kg 1 x 100kg. Made it through, but technique is very poor on bench (iron this out i hope for 110 very soon. 5 @80kg x 3 sets 10 @ 60 kg x 1 set Incline Dumbells 4 sets of 7/8 light sets 27.5kg Incline DB flys 4 sets of 8 @17.5kg Face pulls 3 sets of 10, light weight, slow form (posture is awful, using this to work on it) Cable flyes 3 x 8/12 @ 15 Not the greatest session, as 100kg bench isn't my best, but I close grip pressed 100kg on saturday, so all in all i'll take it. Same reason I decided not to go heavier on the incline. Bit of help on my bench technique I'll have it up hopefully in a month or two. | ||

Member 5031, 1417 posts SQ 230, BP 140, DL 275645.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Not squatted since Christmas eve '13 due to a niggling injury that keeps playing up, but felt good for a week so went for it. 1 set @ 20kg for 10 reps 1 set @40 kg for 8 reps 1 set @ 60kg for 8 reps 3 x 100kg for 5 reps 1 x 120kg for 5 reps 1 x 130kg for 4 reps. Definitely had more in the tank, but don't want to push my luck too much yet. Lift front squat and cleans work (working on technique, wrist positions etc) 3/4 sets of each, no more than 40 kg. Lunges 2 sets of 8 a side, 45kg barbell full length of gym no rest between steps Prone leg curls 4 x 50kg x 8 reps single leg extentions 2 x 8 with 3 stage drops Calf raises (seated) 3 sets, 8 reps, 15kg a side (Pussy weak calves i know) All in all a fairly strong session on the squats, trying to work a bit below my 1RM, aroun 80% ish now for 5 reps on my big lifts (SQ,BP,DL and OHP), with a 1 RM week every 4-6 to measure progress. | ||

Cleans Progressed upto 80kg, but more focusing on form at the minute, as well as strengthening wrists :/ Lat pull downs, plate loaded 80/85kg a side, 3 sets of 8 drop set to finish T bar rows 4 sets of 80kg for 8-12 reps Face pulls light weight 3 sets of 10 Close Grip Bench 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 rep descending sets with sawyers. increasing by 2.5kg of 5kg each set. Finished on 1 rep at 95kg. Tricep Rope work & Isolation 5 sets inc drops. Oly rings pull ups to finish 2x 5 sets @ BW | ||
