i thought you'd enjoy that.

The reality of my training session was all 3 lifts very light and feeling not very good at all.

competition write up:

Weighed in at 80.95kg after having cut carbs out a few days before.

1 - 165kg - good lift, felt easy

2 - 175kg - 2 white lights, got red lighted from the judge at the front for depth

3 - 185kg - 2 white lights, same as before. Best competition squat since 2014 when I was 93kg.

1 - 110kg - easy

2 - 120kg - easy

3 - 125kg - reasonable. 3 white lights. I actually think this is only 2.5kg away from my best competition bench.

1 - 220kg - good

2 - 235kg - good

3 - 250kg - good! 3 white lights. Thiswas the one thing I really wanted to do this comp. It is my first over 3x bodyweight deadlift in competition. I'm happy with this.

total - 560kg

All round a very pleasing performance and more importantly a very enjoyable weekend which I will definitely never forget. I so much didn't want to go to work today as I have that post competition tiredness.

"why is the drummer not wearing a shirt, I think he should take all his clothes off" - actual quote from one of the ladies who wanted rodgering. Which I f**king enjoyed hearing

Cheers! This one was about half way through the set, by which point the levels were alright. It was only really the first few that were f**ked up

Gig write up:

It was an enjoyable night with 4 bands, 3 thrash/death metal bands and us who are basically stoner rock. Because we were so much the odd ones out, we went on first.

Unfortunately there was no time to soundcheck so we just came straight on with all random levels and the sound guy twiddled the knobs and stuff while we were playing. This meant that at first I couldnt really hear the rest of the band much and it threw me off a bit. It took a few songs to really get into it and warm up properly. Also the drum kit I was playing was an absolutely awful and very unergonomic setup.

I decided to go shirtless because i thought if im ever going to do that, now is the time to start. After the show i walked outside with multiple ladies, all of whom wanted rodgering. Unfortunately I ruined it for myself with my terrible personality and they ended up with the bassist. They were too English for me anyway.

The other bands were awesome and there was lots of moshing and crowd surfing, followed by lots of thrash metal degenerates pouring out into the streets and vandalizing things.

I think that considering we had no sound check, the equipment was horrible and we were playing to totally the wrong crowd, we did pretty f**king well. I'm still pretty overwhelmed by it all.
