Member 3919, 243 posts | Uk Masters 27/05 First competition of the year and first as a Master! 1st event- 115kg incline log Was first out on this event, and was a little panicked! Got 6 reps but 2 were disallowed due to the fact that I hadn't locked my legs out. Quite disappointed at this as usually quite good at pressing events. Probably around 9-10 out of 13 2nd event- 230kg Deadlift (60 secs) Did this beltless as thought be easier for the breathing. Got 10 reps and was just hitching the s**te out of the 11th when my strap broke. Not bad result, winner got 15 reps 3rd Event- 120kg farmers (15 metere drop and turn) There were the large Anarchy Strength wooden farmers which batter your legs. Did first 15 no probs but had a drop on the way back. Grip is still poor but improving. 4th Event- Arm over arm truck pull. Quite tricky as no one finished the course. Was on grass and quite uneven ground. It seemed as the event was going on the ground was being flattened and everyone did slightly better than the previous competitor. Did just over 11m which was probably 5th-6th 5th Event- 130kg atlas stone over yoke. Quite nervous about this as torn my bicep last year on stones. Went quite conservatively and got 5 reps, got 6th to the bar but let it drop back. 6th overall. Was fairly happy with this and would have been further up with a few less mistakes. The main thing i took from it was how much i enjoyed it and what a good bunch were doing it. The winner, John Pollock, is an absolute machine and also a jolly decent bloke. Going to drop some belly now and concentrate on improving deadlifts and squats. | ||

Member 3919, 243 posts | back in blighty after two weeks on hols, managed to train a fair bit but feeling pretty beat up now. 21/06 - too hot, tired and undernourished. high bar squat up to 160 x 2- felt like a million tonnes 100 x 20 deads 180 x 3 200 x 3 230 x 1 (felt awful) 200 x 5, x 3 210 x 3 220 x 3 incline 100 x 10 120 x 4 (painful, miserable) 100 x 10 x 2 calf raises and leg extensions. All in all, pretty s**te. | ||
