Well i thought id start a record of my training to see if it helps improve the frequency and quality of my training if nothing else.
Its certainly helped my training partner who posts here, Maca. He is not quite so lazy in the gym now that others will see his efforts!Tongue

Anyway, bit about me. Lifted at a couple of Scottish Unequipped comps and a couple of bench comps, last of which was on Sunday. Bench ticking along nicely, other two lifts lagging, due mainly do not doing them often enough i think? So over the winter bringing them on with a view to comps from March onwards would be my main goals. Also doing Unit 20 first timers in April.

Good to see a log Robert, should make for good reading.

Like I posted in Maca's log I was shocked you only took 145 on your final lift the other day, all your benches flew up, it looks like your a 150 bencher to me mate!

Monday 1st November.

Squats.

60kg x 20.
80kg x 10.
100kg x 10.
120kg x 6.
140kg x 4.
160kg x 2.
180kg x 1.

All raw and beltless. 180 was slow and ugly but felt like leaving belt off tonight, so happy.

Shoulder Press Machine.
Working in with Maca on end of his shoulder workout.
1 plate aside x 10.
2 plate aside x 10.
3 plate aside x 10.
4 plate aside x 6.

Wee gym next door to finish shuds and triceps x lots.

your squats where good yesterday especially beltless! i recon annother week or two heavy training hit the unit aswell then start our deloding programme for a month light weights train the events lightish aswell and finish up the year fresh hopefully injury free. 2011 start all over again bigger and better..

I saw that Allan, cheers bud. Yeah felt strong Sunday, benches really all flew up and got muddled at shoulda been 147.5kg next jump and woulda loved another coupla benches to see how high i couldve got but plenty more to come and i take any p.bs as progress for now! Hope the journal helps me kick on cos its good reading all the boys you see at comps, bryan, ross, marc, yourself etc all making such progress.

SUNDAY BENCHPRESS COMP.

Lifted unequipped. Previous comp p.b was 140kg. Weighed in at 89kg.At the unequipped in july i went 135 pass, 140 fail, 140 pass. So this time i went...

137.5kg Pass
142.5kg pass
145 kg pass.

So double p.b but as Allan mentioned and to Maca's disgust i coulda/shoulda went for bit more due to lifts being easier than i thought. Also last warm up was 140kg, easy, so that shoulda been the sign to increase them but confidence will be there next time!

Bench And Back tonight with Maca.

Bench.

60kg x 10 x 2.
100kg x 10.
All sets wide grip, pinkies outside rings.

120kg x 11. (2 Rep P.B)
130kg x 6.
138kg x 2 x 2.
These sets narrower grip, pinkies inside rings.

Deficit Deadlift.
Bar 4 Inch off ground.

100kg x 5.
140kg x 5.
160kg x 5.

Bent Over Barbell Rows.
D.O.H Grip.

60kg x 20.
80kg x 15.
100kg x 10.

Standing on couple of boards for deads, up the weight each week, try stay at 5 reps, then down to one board for three's see how far that takes me before i try a pull from floor again see if it helps in the long run. Sauna n home, job done.

This just highlights to me even more that you totally under sold yourself on the bench on Sunday Robert!!! My PB with 120 is 10 and with 130 is 6 and I do 155, there is absolutely no way you are only a 145 bencher.

Funny you should pick that out, benched 3x a wk four weeks out from bench comp, bench really moved. Done 120x9 twice recently and a 1r.m calculator equalled that to 148, the tenth rep brought it up to 157 or summit, so your bang on mate and im letting the side down lol! Ok bench going well for now but how on earth do you keep your three lifts to such a good standard?! I can only concentrate on one thing a time! The graft starts here.
