Is this some trendy Russian training method the kids are all into?

Very possibly. The huge number of warm-ups confused me and the massive 100lb leap to his opener startled and frightened me. It seems a very strange thing to make up yourself and could well have been dug up on some strange corner of the internet.

Dr Rick's mantra of opening on something to can depend on tripling in training make perfect sense and has made perfect sense to generations of powerlifters.

We seem to have a generation now who dismiss tried and trusted things as old fashioned, and dismiss entirely WHY they have become tired and trusted and instead cling to something found on the internet. The reason appears to be that anything on the internet is good and the stranger it is, and the less sense it makes, the more radical it is and therefore the better it must be.

It seems deeply strange that someone would trust a man he has never seen and may or may not be a complete buffoon rather than a man who is real, will talk to you face to face and has been there and done it.

It is, as I have commented before, a funny old world. Call me old fashioned but I will stick with the dinosaurs.

A fairly straightforward five

GXGGX

The fourth carried some confidence and slowed my gallop when it was wrong. Concluded that there were only two options (although always worried that there was another un-thought of word lurking), the first proved correct

A bungled four yesterday but a smooth three today.

The fourth was along time coming and carried a high degree of confidence, it was close but no cigar. The answer followed quite quickly but some time was spent checking that there were no others. Very happy to see a row of greens but I didn't particularly enjoy this today.

Annoyingly the older opener would have given GYYYX which surely would have made things easier. There was no way I could have known that but it is a reminder of how fickle this is.

A dismal day, as soon as I started warming up without the bar I could feel some creaking in the lower back, once the bar was used it still creaked and I couldn't find any fluidity with a telescope. I decided to limit in to sets of three and to ninety kilos and to do all sets paused. Even paused, the depth was either there or it wasn't. Thank to Jim and Jeff for their depth-nazi-ing. Grim. Still, there's always next week

A pretty satisfying four, which could have been a ballache.
