Technique in all areas was pretty wank, thanks for the vids there Boar!

Got lots to work on but for a first meet to get an equal pb and a 10kg pb I'm fairly chuffed!

Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement on the day and the kind words now after.

It was great to finally get down to the famous Adlington Barbell Club and lift in such good company with such a supportive atmosphere. Great effort by everyone and thanks go to the organisers, loaders, scorers etc. That was the first time I have ever seen any olympic lifting "live", even more impressive than watching on the tv - and I was already impressed!

Great comp on Saturday guys, a big thank you to all who put effort in to help make it happen. It was great to finally meet a few more people from the board.

Wasnt expecting a lot from my lifting but was pleased with my lifts. Even more pleased to beat AdamWink

Big thank you to all who helped out, Rick, Joni, Fat Pete etc all worked their arses off to let us guys have a great afternoon lifting. It says a lot for a place and the kind of people involved when you've got an injured WSM finalist helping to load the daedlifts on a cold saturday afternoon.

Some of the highlights for me:

Tony pulling his PB 302.5
Ben's real gutsy deadlift
MC's 190kg opener - I still cant believe that power jerk

Looking forward to the next one already.

I may have some wrong, because I didn't keep careful notes on my card of the outcomes of all final lifts - if this is you, please tell me!

Results, I think:

name jerk dead total
1 Mark Clegg 190 300 490
2 Karl 180 300 480
3 Shawn 140 330 470
4 Alex 140 310 450
5 Tony 130 302.5 432.5
6 Little A 170 250 420
7 Ben F 112.5 290 402.5
8 Nat 150 240 390
9 Richard 97.5 292.5 390
10 Ian Shaw 85 300 385
11 Andy W 115 260 375
12 James 110 260 370
13 Kev 135 230 365
14 Cuddles 105 255 360
15 Adam 95 250 345
16 Mishima 115 205 320
17 Jake 80 240 320
18 Kenny 90 215 305
19 Boar 95 200 295
20 Mr Small 70 160 230
- Howarth 160 DNL 0
- Wigan 140 DNL 0
- Jonny Mills 120 DNL 0
- Pete DNL 230 0

Largest totals were undoubtedly those of Fat Pete and Big Mark, who loaded for three and a half hours unflaggingly and without a single error, an astonishing and draining performance.

Astonishingly, if you sort on total points (1 point for first on a lift, 2 for second, etc, with lowest total wins and kg total to tiebreak) you get:

1 Mark Clegg
2 Karl
3 Shawn
4 Alex
5 Tony
6 Little A
7 Nat
8 Ben F
9 Andy W
10 Richard
11 James
12 Kev
13 Ian Shaw
14 Cuddles
15 Adam
16 Mishima
17 Jake
18 Kenny
19 Boar
20 Mr Small

Virtually no change, especially at the top!
