Of course, but only one of several thousand I have made over the years.

Gambling is a very mercurial activity, happily though one good decision can erase five hundred bad ones. Whatever the result, I will be happy with it. Though happiness levels can vary hugely with the result.

One thing is certain, come ten past five it will all be so blindingly phucking obvious, I will do nothing other than slap my palm against my forehead and wonder how I missed it.

Such fun.

The trouble with large fields is that there will be several that are of interest but are too short a price to be worth the risk. Several that are of no interest regardless of price, and several that are decent prices and of interest. If one of the first two groups win, then so be it, that's life. But if one of the third group wins it can be very annoying - unless of course the right one wins, in which case happy days.

Nobel Prize winner Edith Wharton once said, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”

Very true Billy. I presume that we alternate between the two. I would think that I have been a mirror a lot more than I have been a candle.

Sunday, 25th June, start 13:00

Bit later than usual as we have had the carpark levelled, and very fine it looks to, so I was forced to take a few compliments from neighbours. It was tough but I managed :-)

Bench, very raw
20 x 15
20 x 15
20 x 15
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 5
all paused now
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
100 x 2
Just a shade lighter than usual because it felt like the right thing to do, all went well enough. Away to the Spinners for this week, beef and onion pie and chips. Very nice as well, but not quite as nice as our new level carparkHappy

According the the weather forecast it shouldn't get much higher than mid sixties all this week. I do hope so, this is far more comfortable that all that sunshine s**t.

Sunshine is like snow, nice to look at through the window but pretty horrible to go out in.

I have little interest in music, for example I know that Ed Sheeren headlined at Glastonbury last night but although I have heard the name I could not name one of his songs. I don't say that I have not heard any, but if I have, I didn't know it was him.

Over the passed few weeks a man called the "rag 'n' bone man" has slipped beneath the radar and into my consciousness. I googled him and he is young, British, large and bearded. He is also one of the greatest lyricists of his generation I am told.

He was on BBC4 yesterday, so I recorded it, his first song was called "Wolves". I know this cos the BBC kindly put a caption across the bottom of the screen. Throughout the song he grunted very quietly into the microphone and apart from "Wolves" and "scratchin' at the door" I couldn't understand a word he said.

His second song was called "ego" and comprised very similar grunting to a different tune. By the third tune I had switched off and deleted the recording. What a sack of s**t.

What is the point in being one of the finest lyricist of your generation if you can only grunt. How do they know your lyrics are so fine ? What not go the whole hog and get Ser Ilyn Payne to sing them for you. Bah !

When you are happy you understand the music, but when you are sad you understand the lyrics

Even though I'm not human, I can relate. I like the lyrics.

Monday, 26th June, start 16:10

It is cooler but not quite as cool as I would have liked, still it is what it is, last time I tripled 240 so today either 245 or 250 hopefully the latter

Squat, raw, boots and sleeves on
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
60 x 5
belt on
100 x 3
120 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
All deeply deep and rather pleasant

Boots off, pumps on
Deadlift
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 3
140 x 2
belt on
180 x 1
200 x 1
220 x 1
235 x 1
250 x 3
The 235 felt rather good so a decision on 250 was made, this turned out to be rather harder than I imagined. A bit arse up on the first, second not bad and the third was a slow affair, but it was always going, and the hold at the top was in no way a problem, which is always a good sign. Handsome Jeff kindly videoed it and will post it later so you can see for yourself

I can understand that, but yesterday I couldn't tell a word he said, maybe Glastonbury has s**t sound.

I did google the lyrics to "Wolves" and I did rather like them, just can't understand when he sings them

Nice work.

I'd be remiss however - in relation to our previous chats about Totals, World Records and World Titles - if I didn't point out that, compared to what I've spent many hours watching these past days from Minsk, I'd be concerned about you being called for "shoulders not back" on each and every one of those reps.
