It can be a bit disheartening but sometimes backing off a touch is best. Loose a battle or two but win the war.
I am thinking if I do the programme again I might drop the H and just do L and M.

Unsure of what pace to set, I did 6x500m at an average of 1:34.1 a couple of weeks ago so thought a second under that should be tough but doable. First one felt easy(ish!) for AN so I picked the pace up a touch for the rest. Probably about right overall, the last one was a max effort. Semi enjoyable

Cheers jt, I took your advice today! Cameron Buchan did an interview with her that I saw, she talks about visualising the race before hand. I tried it a couple of days ago during my UT2 and my HR shot up so I stopped thinking about it

So, I have 7 weeks and a taper to knock 1.6 seconds off! I decided to go for negative splits and hope there was enough left at the end, I did manage a small push on the last 500 but blew up a little short of the finish. I'm such a noob at pacing these still, I can only think if I'd have set off a little faster I would have been slower at the end though. I'll put a video up for jt's amusement, I was so shattered at the end I'm still feeling shaky now 6 hours later. Cut some trees down this afternoon with the kids which was a lot more fun
