Had only limited opportunities to eat today, so energy levels dropped off quickly. I think thats why i ran out of steam at 11 reps on the deadlift rather than the 20 i had planned. Could no doubt have hitched a few more, but im not keen on hitching in training.
Squats were easy, but the walkout was very tricky. Will need to tighten that up before i can start adding more weight.

Feeling pretty decent after saturday, other than some serious lower back doms and forearm bruising, everything feels good to go.

Back to the grind today, got to do a lot of volume work if i want to get my strength to the levels im aiming for in my next comp.
Strict press was feeling easier than expected so stuck an extra 5kg on for the final 5 reps.

145kg log x 1

First rep was easy so i ignored the plan and rushed straight in for the 2nd. This cost me.

300kg car deadlift x 7

Paced myself well and got a result im pretty happy with. 10th

150kg farmers x 40m

Rushed this a little so ended up making a couple of drops that shouldnt of happened. But i completed the course in about 40s, setting a PB and beating some strong guys in the process. 9th.

380kg yoke x 20m

Went head to head with my training partner on this so all that mattered was beating him. Went a bit cautious at first, but started to turn on the speed around the half way mark. 9.75s, 8th + a PB.

Stones, 120 - 180

Was sitting in 10th overall and feeling pretty good. No one had loaded the 4th stone, so knew if i did that and won my head to head id be guaranteed a top 10 finish.
Went off fairly slow, just making sure i was ahead of the guy over from me. Loaded the first 3 in about 20s.
Retackied, took some breaths and went for the 160. Wasnt close, stone was way too dusty and i just couldnt keep a grip. (No one else managed it either).
Droppped a lot of points here, should went for a fast 3 instead of pacing myself. 14th.

11th overall.
Someone came from nowhere and beat me by 1.5pts to push me out of the top 10. Couple of mistakes definitely cost me some points, but i hit all my goals going in, and was really pleased with my deadlift and yoke. So while its not the result i wanted there are some positives and im feeling very good about where things are after the last 12 months.

Looking to hit 12 weeks of solid volume training now im back on the gear, and then hopefully I'll find a comp to prep for around September time before the baby arrives.

Someone is lying to you.

Z is 6'3 and not an inch taller. Stand him next to Hollands or Thor and you'll see how huge the difference is. Unless your theory is that Thor is 7ft?
