I train at the Palace fo Art with a few other powerlifters and have been lifting for 4 years. Previously I did TKD an knackered my ankles, so took up lifting as a way to fix my legs.

My most recent comp was today, totalled 345kg unequipped and took the British squat and bench records in my weight class.

I'm aiming for the British this year, that means suits and wraps to be in with a chance.

I will be logging here an updating because I've been talked into it by some of the other palace mob. (Most likely accompanied with whinging about the bruises and sunday deadlift hangover.)

Todays Lifts:

Squat:
115kg
125kg
130kg FAIL

Bench:
70kg
75kg
77.5kg FAIL

Deadlift:
130kg
140kg
145kg

I managed 2 sets of 2 chin ups unassisted when I was showing off at home. Lou's house champion!

Great grind on the deadlift, and LOVING (jealous of) your bench arch. What are you looking to get at your next competition?

Thanks guys, I still view my deadlift as needing major work though. Only because I'm greedy and want all the records.

I've qualified for the GBPF Seniors at the end of June, that's the next comp. Hence the need for equipment.

Woke up this morning with some lovely glute DOMs, shoulders and quads were fine. Loosened up after a bit of judo though. Did a run through of my dan grade theory, I think they're trying to hint at something.

You deadlift like a f**king mad woman. In fact the gutsiest deadlift set I've ever seen was when you were doing fives a couple of months back so I reckon it's just a matter of time till it's the Louise Murray show right through the board. The undisputed champion of the world. Then King Kong wont have s**t on you and you can kick elves and gnomes for potions and turkey like Tyris in Golden Axe.
I'm enjoying your success at the moment as well as everyone elses. A lot of people are peaking over the lifts at the moment and it's great to observe it all.

Squat: 5X5 @85kg
Feet Up Bench: 1X7 @50kg, 2X6 @50kg, 1X5 @50kg
Reverse Hyper Extensions: 2X10
Chest Supported Rows: 1X5 @45kg, 1X5 @40kg, 3X5 @45kg
Overhead squat: 1X5 @40kg, 1X5 @45kg, 1X3 @50kg

Legs felt fine for more on squat but I've to have a "light" day before the suite torture starts.

The reverse hyper extensions felt all hamstring and no glutes, so I must have done them wrong.

Highlight of tonights training: shouting "run away" while side spotting a bench press. The outcome was hilarious.

Nice feet up numbers.
You arching when you're doing it or are you pushing the back into the bench fatman stylee?

Slight arch, not the ridiculous cheating omg that shouldn't be allowed arch. (and a narrow grip to help with the increased rom)

My back doesn't do flat.

Flatback is the dogs nuts. Been using it also lately (like the 1 session of bench I did in february). Dat ROM.

Can't snap a spine if I don't have one.

Today's Training

Power Snatch: 1X3 @40kg, 2X3 @41kg, 1 @43kg, 3X3 @41kg
Shoulder Press: 2X5 @37kg, 1X5 @38kg, 1X3 @40kg, 1X4 @40kg, 1X3 @40kg
Power Clean & Jerk: 1 @45kg, 1 @50kg, 1 @55kg (Cleans are easy, jerks are not.)
Front Squat: 2X5 @80kg, 1X3 @80kg
Chin-up: 2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 2

Now that I can do more than one pullup I can ditch the bands and start working on them unaided. Tried to go for 4 but could only get less than halfway up.

Squat suit has arrived, it looks kind of big for a competition fit. I probably won't be saying that when I'm trying to put it on.

Strong pressing. Percentage wise that works out pretty good.
I hope your squat suit gives you as much awesome as big Tobys gave him. If it gave you what it gave him, a 400lb lift will be on the cards soon.
I've always wanted to try one for the lulz.
