I'm not having a good week Bill, I think I've got an infection of some kind, constantly dizzy but blood sugars are normal, sore throat since Monday and very tired all the time! Could easily have not bothered tonight. However:-

Wednesday 12th July,

Very muggy under the tin roof! Just 8 lifters in today.
Weighed in at 116.75Kg.

Squat.
2 x 5 x 20
5 x 70
4 x 100
3 x 120
3 x 135
3 x 150
2 x 160 Wanted 3x but bottled it.
2 x 170 Wanted 3x but not happening.
1 x 180 Not originally planned but my punishment for not nailing the required 3x170.
The single at 180 was far easier than i'd expected.

Bench.

Golfers elbow really bad tonight, does anyone have an idea about what can be done for this pain? Ibrupofen does not touch it.

No problems.

Monday 17th July.

Very warm again tonight, nine lifters at the Farm.
Found it difficult to get myself up for this tonight, everything felt heavy to start with.
Weighed in at 117.75kg.

Bench.

2 x 5 x 100 Close Grip.
Got through them in the end but not a comfortable session.

Deadlifts.
5 x 70

Ground them out and happy with how the evening ended, the book wanted a treble at 190 which I thought was never happening, however it was more comfortable that the 170 so I threw the double at 205 in because it beat me last Monday!

Wednesday 19th July.

Nine lifters at the Farm, humidity was very high, needed a thunderstorm to cool us down, despite mean looking skies it never came.
Not feeling good tonight, blood sugars playing up, feeling very lethargic.
Weighed in at 117.20kg.

1 x 150 Should have been 3x
1 x 162.5 Should have been 3x
Sacked of the 172.5 and 182.5 sets, feeling rough!
5 x 70 All paused at bottom.
3 x 90 All paused at bottom.

Very happy with this benching considering how rough I feel.

No more lifting for two weeks now as i'm off to sell a house in France.
Not the best prep for a competition on the 12th August as i'll have just two sessions prior to lifting after two weeks away, but the EM Masters is just a bit of fun.

have you tried a strap for the golfers elbow , worked an absolute treat for my tennis elbow a while back.

Friday 4th August.

First time lifting anything for the best part of 2 weeks so taking it really easy. Weighed in at 115.65kg.

Squat.
2 x 5 x 20 Knees hurt!
5 x 60 Knees still hurt!
3 x 100 Better!
2 x 120
1 x 135
1 x 145
1 x 155
No problems once the knees got used to bending again!

Bench.
15 x 20
8 x 60
5 x 80
3 x 100
1 x 110 Paused.
1 x 115 Paused.
2 x 5 x 85 Close Grip.
Bench has suffered from the lack of activity.

Deadlift.
5 x 70
4 x 110
3 x 130
2 x 150
1 x 170
1 x 190
No issues.

The plan is for a similar workout on Monday, upping the weights a little and the same again on Wednesday, just treating next Saturdays competition as a workout as the British QT is in the bag from the All England, anything over 500 will be acceptable.

Have you not considered doing assistance work with higher (8-12) reps? This will not only strengthen muscles that are neglected, flush areas with blood and iron out imbalances, and it just might help nudge your total up a little bit.

Monday 7th.

Just 7 lifters at the Farm, very warm, ached all day (laying paving slabs yesterday) felt bad but needed to grind a session out.

Probably the limit tonight, had to really work for the 165.

1 x 120 Long pause, failed to lock out the right side about an inch from the top!

Very rushed, working in with Stuart in the last 20 minutes.

Tonight was a proper grind, not happy with how heavy everything felt but pleased to have stuck with it. Will do it again on Wednesday.

If I'm lucky enough to be selected for GB after the December qualifier the place to lay all your cards on the table will be the platform in Sweden!
