Friday 4th May.

I've been lifting long enough to know that bad sessions happen and that the best thing to do is just get over it. Tonight was one of those bad sessions, absolutely no idea why, that said I did have a whole load of random pains all evening, shoulder, neck, knee, chest!
Weighed in at 118.30kg.

Squat.
2 x 5 x 20
5 x 70
4 x 100
3 x 125
3 x 137.5
3 x 147.5
1 x 157.5 Should have been 3x.
1 x 167.5 Should have been 3x.
1 x 175
This should have been trebles all the way to 167 however it was never on, the 175 single was thrown in because I felt sh*t about not doing the trebles! Should have closed with 3x140 but after un-racking and stepping back I knew they were just not there - quitter!

Bench.

2 x 1 x 125 Failed both, just no drive off chest.

Should have included a single at 127.5 and a 6x100 but just power in shoulders.

So sh*t session, i'll have an easy one on Monday and get back on it by Wednesday.

Monday 7th May.

Very hot at the Farm and fairly deserted, just Kev, Tom and me playing.
Weighed in at 118.8kg.

After Fridays debacle I tweaked tonight's session somewhat.

Squats.

Felt heavy but no real problems, perhaps Friday was a blip!

Left it here, wanted a few more sets but everyone else had departed, music was off, temperature was soaring and I felt that I needed a cold beer more than I needed several more sets!

Wednesday 9th May.

Very busy at the Farm tonight, 11 lifters!
Still working off Friday nights disaster so decided on single deadlifts and paused bench.
Weighed in at 118.6kg.

Deadlift.
My last session suggested that a single at 110 was available to me so:-

No problems, their might have been 212.5 or even 215 but certainly no more.
The book was about right.

My bench seems to have suffered more than squats & deadlift. That said it would appear that Friday was just one of those tired days we all get now and then.

Back to the plan on Friday.

I'll be competing at the All England in a couple of weeks, however i'll be using it as a good training session. Lifting unopposed so the plan is to take one, maybe two squats, would have liked a pop at the regional bench record which stands at 127.5 but I don't think i'll have a 130 in me, I might also have a pop at breaking my own English deadlift record of 225kg.

14 lifters at the Farm!!!
That does not happen often.
Weighed in at 117.65kg.

I'm lifting at the All England a week on Sunday so tonight was a run through up to my openers.

No problems. The plan is 175/185/No third lift.

Last proper session before the All England.

Short and sweet deadlift session. Plan is now 200/215/whatever!

Barring a disaster I should end up somewhere between 520 and 530.

This will be my 11th consecutive All England and i'm proud to say that I am the only lifter to have competed in every one!

Lot's of squats with 40kg, mainly just stretching out and paused deep squats.

I will be spending Friday evening setting up the hall for the weekends lifting, Saturday I'll be refereeing all day, refereeing Sunday morning, lifting Sunday afternoon then refereeing again all day Monday before putting the hall back to normal! Busy weekend ahead.

Friday 25th.
At the Farm from 4PM to set up the main hall for the weekends event, left around 10PM.

Saturday 26th.
Got to the Farm at 8AM to complete final arrangements. Refereed the morning session on Platform 1, then the afternoon and evening session on Platform 2. Left just after 10PM.

Sunday 27th.
Got to the Farm at 8AM. Only one platform today, ran the desk for the morning session, refereed the afternoon session then went to warm up for the evening session.

Weighed in at 117.80kg.
