As part of my training for the next Southampton's Strongest Man competition around Christmas I want to aim for the following:

Squat currently 187.5kg, target 205kg
Deadlift currently 230kg, target 260kg
Pushpress currently 92.5kg, target 105kg

I will also aim to close the CoC number 2.5.

Any advice/opinions always welcome.

Did some atlas stone training today. First time using tacky and it made such a difference. Have made a video so will put that online soon.

Atlas Stones
3 x 80kg
6 x 105kg
Wish I had a heavier stone to try Unhappy

Log Lift
1 x 42kg
1 x 52kg
1 x 62kg
1 x 72kg
1 x 82kg fail
Wasn't feeling it today. Perhaps tired from shoulders on Wednesday or because I didn't have my belt on.

Really please with the stones and looking forward to future training sessions.

Hey man. The guys who train me and myself find two different pressing sessions to be pretty good, for me i find my pressing goes to s**t when i only train it once a week, after a month of only once a week my overhead went to s**te.

we do log, log one motions and strict log and axle, rotated around so all get done every two weeks.

Interesting stuff. I think you're right, I need to start pressing twice a week which means I'll have to start travelling to the place with the logs. I think there's potential for a really strong press there but just need to train harder.

Squats on Smith machine

Behind neck shoulder press on Smith
10 x 60kg
4 x 80kg
2 x 90kg

Narrow grip bench on Smith
10 x 60kg
6 x 80kg
2 x 100kg

Deadlifts on Smith!!

2 x 155kg
These felt horrible

Shoulder Medley 55kg Dumbell, 75Kg Barrel, 85kg Axle, 95kg Log, 105kg Yoke
Car deadlift (weight to be confirmed)
Truck Pull 12 tonnes, 20m
Super Yoke 280kg, 20m
Altlas Stones 100/110/120/130/160 KGs

Will be concentrating on my shoulders and deadlifts over the next 2 months.

One-arm dumbbell press

Disappointed with the push presses but put that down to my cold and jet lag. Really really pleased with the dumbbell presses and think 55kg is there already.

Found out the atlas stones in the comp will be to 48inches which suits my height and the deadlift will be 220kg in hand from 18 inches which is great for me.

1 x 90kg PB but only coz it's the heaviest I've tried

Strange session. Wanted a deadlift record but no chance of getting after the 220kg effort. Cleans were also terrible - really need to practice these and train them ever week.

Really pleased today. Push press felt strong. 55kg dumbbell is the opening weight of the shoudlers at the competition in Dec so glad I've acheived this and should be able to do much more by then Happy
