for the last 5 years I have mainly been doing triathlons and running.
I have now sold off my triathlon equipment and bought a powercage for my shed.
I am fairly weak and intend on becoming less weak.
My aim (as usual) is to enjoy training and enter a few competitions , the British masters (I believe) is held in Belfast , so The best I can hope for is the 'All England' powerlifting comp.
qualification for this is 460kg (I will be lifting as a under 83/84kg)
I was about 74kg whilst cycling over the winter, but now I am about 79kg.

Session 1
Squat
benchPress
Military press
hanging leg raise
I have only just got to the point where I can train and not feel mega sore the next day
I really did consider using some 'bottled test' but in the end I just would rather have long, slow steady gains over the rollercoaster ride of quick, big gains followed by a rapid winter slump ...rinse n repeat .....
my inspiration is kenders ...... the MASTER GRINDER .... deffo not ed.

Trained with my eldest who has just left school , might drag him along to the comp that I am hoping to do in November .... realistically I don't think I will be able to manage the 460kg qualifying total for the 'All Englands' but you never know .....

Yea, Godda be carefull ..... just coz Tom is deadlifting 425kg..... my back has been fine but it deffo was feeling 'tired' and I thiunk injury is around the corner if I push it too fast
I do believe my strength will return but I don't think I will get close to 600lb ..... I think 500lb is something I can work towards
182.5/125/227.5 is some sort of fantasy target

Good stuff boarski!!
I would love a 180+ squat. I'm also hoping for a 500lb deadlift. That's realistic for me this year. Maybe a 135 paused bench.
Go go go

Also, if you do all the comp research (like you do) I'll consider competing. Foot dependent. Same class. under 83 masters!

didn't realise you were over 40 pete ! (kenders well over 40 OBVS)
I will keep you up to date pete , I will be happy to get smashed by yourself .... considering how strong you are, its pretty unlikely that I will ever get to those targets befor you
lets hope I can enjoy a summer of injury free lifting gainz
and kenders, its a shame they hold the comp in NI (for me) but who knows..... one day I may cobble together a total and some $$$ and have a go

British masters moves every year, mate. Never been in Belfast before. There's a second one in December due to European calendar revisions and it's in Horncastle, as it was last year. The only competition always in the same place (so far - that ought to change soon too) is the English champs.
