I was being a spaz! Member 2961, 1580 posts SQ 195, BP 120, DL 255570.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | Awesome thread! Zerchers are king! Brilliant for core strength and I'm convinced they've really been helping to improve my deadlift. I didn't realise there was as much love for them as there is. I do both lift and squat, but if Zercher squatting I do the first part of the lift to get into the squat starting position, perform the squat then back down to the floor. I have no rack access at the moment. I lift off the floor, or deadlift to knees depending on weight. Oh, and I'm all 'raw'...in fact 'raw extreme', as I don't use sleeves with an oly bar. And, I'm currently ruined from my Zercher efforts yesterday LOL

Haha! Indeed my gym is the more traditional cardio type, so most people use the machines as opposed to the free weights, so when I go in and start Zerchering, I get some very odd looks!

to row or not to row ...that is the question Member 1963, 811 posts SQ 202.5, BP 140, DL 265607.5 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | Wayne_Cowdrey said: Yes. On zercher lift you dead lift it onto knees and hook your arms under. Plan for Wed then is max squat then max zercher squat then max zercher lift!

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22080 posts | bertie said: in what way will this benafit me more than doing front and back squats? I think of a zercher squat as a "front squat with added benefits". Back muscles have to work due to the position of the weight, which is trying to pull you forwards. No direct loading of the spine, unlike back squats. Safe exercise, which effectively works the legs/torso. I started doing them when my back was injured and fell in love with the exercise
